Quick Sourdough Discard Waffles

Equipment

  • Waffle iron
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • large bowl or jug

Ingredients
  

  • 2 Cups (454g) Sourdough starter/discard
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/4 Cup (60g) Butter/ Coconut oil
  • 2 Tbsp Honey
  • 1 Tbsp Vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 Tsp Bi-carbonate of soda

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the waffle iron
  • Mix the starter, eggs, honey, salt, vanilla and butter/ oil in a large bowl
  • Carefully add the baking soda and stir in well
  • Fill waffle iron and cook until golden brown.
  • Serve with topping of choice

Notes

Using coconut oil instead of butter creates a crisper texture.
Store in a zip lock back in the freezer for up to 3 months
To reheat: place on a baking sheet and into the oven for around 7-10 mins or until crips and warm
