Easy French Apple Cake

Smells like autumn is in the air, so it's the perfect time to bake this warm cosy French apple cake!

- 1/2 Cup Butter, softened
- 3/4 Cup Granulated Sugar plus more for dusting
- 2 Eggs
- 1 Tbsp Milk
- 1 Tbsp Vanilla
- 1 1/4 Cup Flour
- 1 Tsp Baking Powder
- 1/2 Tsp Salt
- 2 Baking Apples, cored, peeled and chopped/sliced
Preheat the oven to 180c/375f. Peel, core and chop/slice the apples
Cream Butter and sugar together until pale and fluffy
Sift Dry ingredients together in a separate bowl, then add the eggs, vanilla, and milk to the wet ingredients and mix well.
Add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and stir until just combined.
Add the apples and stir lightly
Pour batter into a cake/pie dish and smooth the top. Sprinkle over 1 tbsp sugar to create a crunchy top
Bake in the oven for about 40 mins, or until a skewer comes out clean.
Allow to cool slightly and serve warm with ice cream!
