Easy French Apple Cake

Smells like autumn is in the air, so it's the perfect time to bake this warm cosy French apple cake!

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 Cup Butter, softened
  • 3/4 Cup Granulated Sugar plus more for dusting
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 Tbsp Milk
  • 1 Tbsp Vanilla
  • 1 1/4 Cup Flour
  • 1 Tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • 2 Baking Apples, cored, peeled and chopped/sliced

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 180c/375f. Peel, core and chop/slice the apples
  • Cream Butter and sugar together until pale and fluffy
  • Sift Dry ingredients together in a separate bowl, then add the eggs, vanilla, and milk to the wet ingredients and mix well.
  • Add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and stir until just combined.
  • Add the apples and stir lightly
  • Pour batter into a cake/pie dish and smooth the top. Sprinkle over 1 tbsp sugar to create a crunchy top
  • Bake in the oven for about 40 mins, or until a skewer comes out clean.
  • Allow to cool slightly and serve warm with ice cream!
